Below are some short videos that I took in 2006. They were originally created for my presentation at ISMAR06, they are quite short and not fantastic quality but feel free to have a look at them and show them to others.

    • This is an example of a pointing gesture being captured and sent wirelessly to an outdoor augmented reality system.
    • This video shows a coke can that is being reconstructed in real time, using the Tinmith outdoor augmented reality system the user is able to select the reconstruction and move it to another location.
    • This video shows a person using the Tinmith outdoor augmented reality system to relocate a reconstruction of a pointing hand using a head relative mode. The gray pad is slaved to a point on the user's view as they move their head the reconstruction relocates. Notice how the hand in this video looks quite different to the hand in the first video? This is because in the first video the reconstruction table was using point grey dragonfly cameras of quite good quality. In this video the reconstructions were created with an older version of the table that was using Fire-i cameras from unibrain... camera quality makes a big difference.
  • http://hog3d.net/vids/wombat_posit_shunt_move.mpg
    • This two videos show the Tinmith user nudging the reconstruction of a wombat sign (notice how it moves away from the user). It also shows the reconstruction being relocated.
    • This video also show the reconstruction being relocated. The wombat sign in this case has a post-it note stuck to the front with the words "buried treasure" this illustrates the use of post-it notes for attaching persistent text using hand written notes.
    • This video shows a number of reconstructions that have been snapshotted (that is they are no longer being reconstructed all the time). This is an example of using multiple reconstructions to create a trail for outdoor AR users to follow.
  • This is another video that shows a number of snapshotted reconstructions. The AR user switches to an exocentric view point to get a broader overview of the scene. You might notice that the video is a bit jerky, this is because the AR user is taking screen grabs while the video is running.
  • http://hog3d.net/vids/yellow_pages_short.mpg
    • Examples of using hand gestures to convey meaning.
